Match Report
St John's School, Leatherhead Boys-U16D vs  Radley College
On: Saturday, 28 Jan 2017
Venue: at Home

The game kicked of to a feisty start and the shorter pavilion pitch provided plenty of action and scoring opportunities. Will Thomas knocked in a goal with the side of his foot within the first few minutes and Scott Driscoll drove the ball skilfully through the midfield creating other chances, however, we were unable to snuff-out the Radley College attacks and two opposition goals quickly followed within 15 minutes. The score was 2-1 at half time. Having lost our captain and goalkeeper JJ Hayter to the C team, Alex Kelland was outstanding in goal and made countless saves, our defenders finding it difficult to protect him from a number of shots throughout the game. In the second half we lost Scott Driscoll to the C team and Angus Hedger played a full role making timely defensive clearances on the left side. Another Radley goal and a free kick left us trailing 4-1 as Sam Cavanagh and Luke Bola found it challenging to bring the Radley attacks to a halt legitimately. St John's were given hope when a penalty expertly taken my Alex Kelland followed by a Zach Brennan goal made it 4-3, but Radley regained control of the match it finished 6-3 to Radley College.
