Match Report
St John's School, Leatherhead 5th VII vs  Cranleigh School
On: Saturday, 04 Mar 2017
Venue: Away

The girls faced a tough Cranleigh U16B team opposition yesterday. However, they rose to the challenge and played some of the best Netball I have seen this season. The first quarter was a slow start with both teams competing hard for every goal, we narrowly lost the first quarter 3-2. During the second quarter the defence team of Lilly, Anya and Ella were really put to the test and some excellent intercepts were made. Unfortunately, Cranleigh's lead widened and by half time they were winning 10-6. The girls remained positive and we had some good team tactics at half time. The central players of Rhianna, Holly, Sophie were key in moving the ball up to the shooters and they all played some fantastic netball. Cranleigh remained on top in the third quarter 15-8. The final quarter saw both our shooters Louise and Hope moving and working very well in the goal circle and persevering around a tough defence. At full time Cranleigh won 17-10 in what was an excellent game. Lilly was named the MVP by Cranleigh and it is a well deserved honour for some fantastic defending as goal keeper.
