Match Report
St John's School, Leatherhead Girls-U14A vs  St Teresa's Effingham
On: Tuesday, 10 Jan 2017
Venue: Away

There was some anticipation about this game as St Teresa's too have reached the final stage of the County tournament. Under floodlights the first quarter was a rather tense affair with the game going goal for goal on the scoreline. Defences in both circles were gaining the upperhand and with some great interceptions from Tilly St John's ended the first quarter 4-3 up. A quick chat at quarter time suggesting that the players relax and turnovers needing to be followed by goals slowly saw the team eek out a 9-5 lead due in some part to some outstanding athleticism from Eliana. Anna dominated the centre third and Amy produced some timely interceptions in her newfound position of WD. Holly knitted herself into the centre-court play well in the third quarter but our dominance on court was not me by the same fluidity of goalscoring as on Saturday - we will blame the floodlights and the odd shaped goal at one end. The final quarter knowing that the win was almost secure saw a better transfer of the ball down the court. Olivia dominated the top of her defensive D and Meg began to time her passes well into the shooting circle and at the final whistle the 19-11 win was deserved.

MVP was shared between Tilly and Eliana and coaches player went to Anna.
