Match report U14B: Away vs St Georges, Weybridge

The match began with even play between St Johns and St Georges, however by the end of the 1st quarter St Johns led by 6 goals to 3. Some excellent interceptions were made mid court by Josie Keey (playing centre and the captain for this game) and also by Yasmin as goal keeper who held strong in defence. The second quarter was very close at times, with St Georges displaying strong passing skills down the court. The score at half time was 13-8 to St Johns.

After a good team talk at half time with much enthusiasm and energy shared amongst the girls, St Johns made a very strong start to the second half. Tishy Rao and Emilia Hay scored 10 goals between them in the third quarter, making this the highest scoring quarter of the game. In the final quarter, the girls pushed hard for their self selected target of 30 goals and managed to reach this thanks to some excellent play down the court, and excellent support around the shooting circle from Sophie Rose(WA) and Josie Keey.

All players should be commended for their game play during this excellent first game of the season. The game finished 30-15 to St Johns; a brilliant start to the season.
