Match Report
St John's School, Leatherhead Girls-U12B vs  St George's College, Weybridge
On: Saturday, 07 Jan 2017
Venue: at Home

The U12B team played brilliantly for their first fixture of the term. Given that they have only had one training session together this week, they worked together as a team from the first whistle and communicated well with each other throughout. After the first quarter the scores were close with St George's leading marginally with a score of 6-3. There was excellent attacking play and the girls worked well to move the ball down to court when they had possession. Unfortunately in the second quarter St George's pulled away and at half time the score was 14-6. The pace of the matched had picked up a little and the girls lost possession a few times from panicked passing and not driving towards the ball, a focal point for training next week. They can back stronger in the third quarter with some fantastic goals by Ella Bromfield and Daisy Murray bringing the score to 11-18. A win was looking unlikely at this point but the girls continued to give it their all until the final whistle with a final score of 13-20. Ella Bromfield was named player of the match for her excellent shooting. Credit also goes to Poppy and captain Caitlin for outstanding centre court movement and to Sophie for excellent defence as GD.
