Match Report
St John's School, Leatherhead Junior A vs  Pangbourne College
On: Saturday, 18 Mar 2017
Venue: at Home

A tight game to finish the season. The opposition played an aggressive, forthright game - putting us under pressure straight away. This led to intense periods of play and Pangbourne getting multiple short corners, eventually taking a 1-0 lead. The frustration was evident and the boys were asked to calm things down and maintain our discipline, to allow us to play our hockey.

With a calmer approach in the second half, the intensity remained but some bursts of play by captain Peter Sinclair saw him equalise through an excellent goal, not far from running the length of the pitch. The game finished 1-1, with both sides battling all the way. As ever, Ewan Armstrong was rock solid, with Luke Francis ably assisting. Billy Bishop continued his skilful play and Luke Read threatened throughout.

The boys can be proud of a fine season - early struggles to score goals have been overcome and the team has gelled much more as the weeks progressed - well done!
