St John's School, Leatherhead Junior A vs King Edward's Witley
On: Saturday, 25 Feb 2017
The boys bounced back well after a frustrating run in to the half term break. The instructions were clear: successful passing with lots of running and making chances count.
The opposition ensured it was much harder to execute this and the ball traveled the length of the pitch as a result. However, the John's defence was a match for their best efforts and sent the ball back up. Some flowing passing by Billy Bishop opened up the game and allowed the likes of Jack Harrison to focus on the goal. Luke Read continued his scoring ways to get on the scoresheet. Harrison scored two before Chris Munro maintained his composure to score a fourth, final goal.
Whilst the above were on the scoresheet, the game was won by the team playing as a whole and praise is due to Luke Francis and Will Payne, stepping up and looking very much a part of the As. Similarly, progress by Jake Cripps and Nick Boulton in defence made for much less of the nail-biting moments!
On to Eton!
