St John's School, Leatherhead Boy's 2nd XI vs King Edward's Witley
On: Saturday, 25 Feb 2017
Venue: at Home
St John's started the Game strongly and dominated throughout the first half. It was not long before Sam Attard scored and shortly afterwards he had a splendid run down the left before passing to Jasper Tressider who scored from close range. Sam scored the third with a strong shot at a short corner just before the interval. KES had the occasional break but Harry Russell was in very good form at the back and they did not manage many shots. Harry Thomas dominated the middle, tackling well and then moving the ball forward well.
The second half was a different story. Although we spent much time in their half we attacked down too narrow a front which gave our forwards little room to get in a shot. One breakaway produced a goal for KES but they were never likely to score again. At the other end numerous shots were on target but their goalie stopped everything.
A good win, but we will have to be at our best next week when we face Eton.
