Match Report
St John's School, Leatherhead Girls-U14B vs  Sutton Valence School
On: Saturday, 21 Jan 2017
Venue: at Home

After a late start due to a frosty court, St Johns made a solid start to the game, leading 8-0 at the end of the first quarter. There was some well thought out play down the court, particularly between Sophie-Rose and Georgie Philpott, who supported the shooting players very well. In the second quarter, St Johns really took the lead in the game, displaying great confidence and communicated with each other very well. Yasmin, Lara and Georgia worked together excellently in defence, and by half time St Johns lead by 21-0.

Sutton Valence came back after the half time break with more drive, and St Johns had to work harder in order to maintain the momentum they had built in the first half. After a further team talk, the girls went out with great determination to play their best for the last quarter although they held a very significant lead. In the final quarter a brilliant total of 17 goals were scored, owing to excellent shooting from Emilia and Tishy. The game finished 45-2 to St Johns, and Tishy Rao was awarded girl of the game. All girls played very well indeed; a great second game of the season.
