Match Report
St John's School, Leatherhead Girls-U15B vs  Sutton Valence School
On: Saturday, 21 Jan 2017
Venue: at Home

Despite the cold, the sun was shining and we were all looking forward to a competitive fixture against Sutton Valence. Illness and injury meant some changes to the team were required and we welcomed Amelia Rees and Jemima Good to the side.

The team started the first quarter was gusto; some excellent passing up the court and very accurate shooting from Jasmine Walker resulted in an 8:1 lead. Abbie Tait controlled play in the centre court and set up some eoutstanding opportunities in the second quarter to extend the lead to 15:2. Sutton Valance rallied together for the third quarter and had far more possession, however we took our chances when they came. Some accurate feeds from Iona Cochrone and Zoe Bell and excellent shooting from Amelia Rees and Jasmine Walker led to a 24:4 lead. The final quarter was undoubtedly Sutton Valance's best of the match but the defence of Martha Witt, Jemima Good and Lauren Mapstone remained strong and the match finished 33:8 to St John's.

The whole team impressed with their professionalism and competitive spirit working until the final whistle. Amelia Rees and Abbie Tait were named player of the match by the opposition and coach's choice was Jasmine Walker for her shooting prowess.
