Match Report
St John's School, Leatherhead Boys-U14A vs  Halliford School
On: Saturday, 18 Mar 2017
Venue: at Home

The season finale saw the U14As get a taste of what is to come with their game against Halliford played on the 1st XI pitch. The boys were fully aware of the task in front of them and were determined to post the only 100% season record. They started well with lots of possession and territory but had to work hard against a solid Halliford side. Early chances came to Patrick O'Neil and Boothby. Hall and Trevitt commanded the midfield and threaded some lovely through balls that deserved to be converted. Hall took a knock and whilst he was off for treatment and the side down to 10 men, Halliford scored against the run of play.
The second half started in a very scrappy fashion as both sides offered no quarter. Boothby equalised when he reacted to a chance in a packed penalty area. This led to a period of dominance with St john's firmly camped in the Hallliford half. Chances went begging until Boothby broke through the staunch Halliford line and finished clinically to make the score 2-1. St John's continued to press but Halliford continued to with their resilience and St John's were unable to increase the score.
Perhaps surprisingly, Halliford offered the sternest test of the season and once again the U14As showed their strength as a team. Played 7, won 7 is a formidable achievement and is thoroughly deserved!
