Match Report
St John's School, Leatherhead Boys-U14A vs  The Oratory School
On: Saturday, 11 Mar 2017
Venue: at Home

The 14As season has shown huge potential. Their 100% record was once more on the line against Oratory. The team started brightly with lots of possession and moving the ball with tempo. The first clear chance came from a fee kick by Hall that grazed the cross bar. Pressure continued with Oratory offering the odd long ball counter attack that the centre half pair of Rice-Jones and Goodman enjoyed dealing with. Boothby proved a handful for the opposition and opened the scoring with a shot from the edge of the box. Two minutes later Hall made it two latching onto a cross field ball from Trevitt. St John's went into the break 3-0 up after Boothby scored his second, counter attacking quickly and finishing with his left into the top corner.

The half time instruction was to not sit back but to continue the first half momentum. Haigh made an immediate impact scoring the 4th with some quick feet in a congested penalty area. A minute later Boothby completed his hat trick. Haigh scored the 6th with a first time shot from 35 yards and then assisted Boothby's 4th to take the score to a clinical 7-0. With the opposition hoping the final whistle would come, Anderson finished delightfully for the 8th and Haigh made it 9 and completed his hat trick. Another fine performance from all and with one game remaining they have the opportunity to end their season on a real high.
