St John's School, Leatherhead Boys-U14A vs Harrow School
On: Saturday, 04 Mar 2017
Venue: at Home
The 14A team showed their intent from the whistle, competing for every ball and looking to move the ball with intent. Patrick Boothby had the first chance of note hitting the post having broken through the Harrow defence at pace. St Johns dominated territory and possession in the opening 10 minutes. Haigh looked as though he had broken the deadlock with a typically clinical finish only to be ruled offside. St John's continued to camp in the Harrow half but were unable to breakdown a well organised opposition. Trevitt narrowly missed from a free kick. 5 mins before half time Harrow were able to counterattack and scored against the run of play. Making it the first time the 14As have been behind all season. The second half was a similar story with St John's impressing their strength in all areas of the field . Harrow were unable to contain them. Boothby equalised 5 minutes in. A Trevitt free kick was headed home by a Harrow defender making it 2-1. Trevitt then converted two penalties, one after Anderson was upended and the second after Haigh had picked the ball up in his own half and broke through only to be brought down by some desperate defending. Anderson scored number 5 with a header at the back post and the 6th came from the last kick of the game with Hall sublimely curling a free kick past everyone. The score ended 6-2. A dominant team performance against good opposition.
