Match Report
St John's School, Leatherhead Boys-U12B vs  Halliford School
On: Saturday, 28 Jan 2017
Venue: Away

With only 9 men and no substitutions, the boys knew they were going to have to work hard from the starting whistle, and that they did. Against a tough opponent who seemed to be very aggressive on the ball – the boys held up some fantastic defensive plays with some outstanding goalkeeping from Alistair and solid tackles from Rhys and Jacob. Each and every eagle ran their socks off in a game that only seemed to get tougher as time clocked on. Some wise words of wisdom were passed on by Captain Archie at half time and the boys continue to showed grit and determination throughout. Jo managed to soldier on despite a painful Achilles injury, ensuring we started and finished with 9 men on the pitch. There were some fantastic attacking runs from James and Jo but sadly our opponents defended well and caught us off-guard. There is an old saying that an eagle never surrenders to the size or strength of its prey and the U12Bs were certainly worthy of representing the eagle on their shirts today – despite the loss, the boys continue to show improvement in skill and game knowledge. Heads up, Eagles!
