Match Report
St John's School, Leatherhead Boys-U12A vs  Halliford School
On: Saturday, 28 Jan 2017
Venue: Away

Another strong performance from the U12A team who showed great spirit to come from behind twice in a game against a strong Halliford team. A superbly taken goal by Halliford put them 1-0 ahead, and nothing could have been done to prevent it. However, a wonderfully taken chip by Eden Barlow preceded a 30 yard drive from Filip Lissah to take a 2-1 lead. A mistake at the back meant the half-time score was 2-2. The second half was all St John's and we were unlucky to go 3-2 behind against the run of play to a counter-attacking goal. However, persistence and determination paid off when Filip Lissah rose well to head in a corner with 5 minutes left to equalise. Despite a few chances late on a winner could not be found and the boys felt disappointed to not get the win their performance deserved. Special mention to Luc Gamber for a strong performance in defence where he didn't put a foot wrong all game.
