Match Report
St John's School, Leatherhead Boys-U15B vs  Berkhamsted School
On: Saturday, 21 Jan 2017
Venue: at Home

With an abridged game consisting merely of twenty minutes each half, the pressure had been turned up in pursuit of protecting the undefeated title.

Perhaps owing to the icy conditions and the chilly temperatures, our boys in green had a slow start and lethargy got the better of them.

Sticking with the practiced four-four-one-one formation, the 15Bs battled the Berkhamsted boys in blue and, finally, super striker Will Aldridge-Bate stole the first goal of the game, sliding the ball into the back of the opposition's net. Nonetheless, the away team were determined with their defence and skillfully secured the first ball after being released from the keeper's grip; the ball met too frequently by a Berkhamsted body. Earning the possession, the opposing 15s got the better of us and scored a goal.
Neck on neck.
Like a sigh of relief, the half time whistle sounded and a motivational team talk was needed to boost the boys' morale. And boost their morale it did, St John's had warmed up and turned up, and with that, luck followed as the Bs won a penalty in the Berkhamsted box. Executed excellently and energetically shot into the left hand side of the goal by captain Michael Haddad, the penalty transformed the scoreline to 2-1.

Socks were pulled up and up stepped the play by both teams, seeing Berkhamsted grab another goal. The full time whistle blew on 2-2.

Albeit a draw, the U15Bs remain undefeated third game into the season!
