On: Saturday, 14 Jan 2017
Venue: Away

Away to Abingdon, the U15Bs extended their clean sheet with their second well-fought win of the season. With each boy showcasing his utmost potential in a relentless fight against the opposition, the boys were pressure-pushing yet skillful and passing tactically. Maintaining excellent sportsmanship from the start to the finishing whistle, the U15Bs wore the St John's green with prowess and pride. Captained confidently by Will Aldridge-Bate, the boys communicated well as a team and stuck with their 4,4,1,1, formation of the previous week, following its success against Tonbridge.

Fifteen minutes into the game, Captain, Aldridge-Bate stole the first goal, closely followed by a second, sneaking the ball passed into the bottom right corner. The boys worked efficiently as a unit and passed well and practiced skill, namely some lovely maneuvers executed by the midfielders.

The heat was turned up in the second half and the boys secured a penalty rebound by Luke French after a deflection from Dale's attempt. The Bs applied pressure and fought fearlessly for the win. Michael Haddad bought the score to 3-0 with a smashing goal, closely followed by a solid strike from the right boot of Sam Smedley. A 5-0 win secured smiles for the boys and a buzz on the bus for the long journey back to Surrey.
