Match Report
St John's School, Leatherhead Girls-U14A vs  Epsom College
On: Saturday, 04 Feb 2017
Venue: at Home

Well done girls - you protected the ball!! The first quarter saw fluid play throughout the court. Tilly and Olivia closed down all opportunities in the defensive circle and on every turnaround Jess provided excellent link play to ensure that the ball kept in the channels with Holly and Ella covering almost every inch of the attacking third. The interplay between Meg and Eliana really developed and the shooting stats matched. At quarter time St John's held a very healthy 14-2 lead. The first few mixtures of the second quarter saw even play in mid court with both teams wasting opportunities and St John's being rather quiet in their play. Some strong interchanges between Ella and Holly and interceptions being made by Tilly and Jess saw St Johns score 7 unanswered goals and with momentum building at half-time the lead had been extended to 27-4. Anna entered the fray as centre in the third quarter and her calmness of played reigned supreme. Olivia gauged her distance superbly and Tilly secured possession on every rebound. Excellent circle play by Meg and Eliana with support always being provided by Ella and Anna at the circle's edge gave rise to another high scoring third quarter. Although the target had been set for the final quarter the inevitable dip in perfromance came. But who can complain. What a fantastic 47-8 win.

MVP was Eliana whose attacking rebounds was a sight to behold and Coaches player for her excellent positional play went to Meg.

This was the match of the season thus far. A shame we have the break of half-term.
