U14B vs KCS Wimbledon
Saturday 26/11/2916
Lost 47-0

St John's found it very hard to get into the match in the first half on a small pitch which didn't suit the expansive play that had worked so well for us last week. After five games of ever improving tackling and defence, we were repeated unable to stop the opposition's strong back row runners and conceded four tries fairly quickly.

St John's passed up a great chance to score just before half-time with Omar Matthias perfectly placed on the blindside from a 5-metre try but not utilised, so the score at the break was 26-0.

We played a lot better second half and several players started getting tackles completed that had been missed in the first half. The defence was hugely improved but KCS were in no mood to be merciful and scored another three tries without response.

Man of the match was Oscar Pitchford who carried the ball well and tackled when other players did not. Also credit should go to Oscar Morgan who had a promising debut for the team and also to Omar Matthias who's determination and willingness to run through a brick wall for the team should be a model for he other players.

More tackling practice is required this next week!
