St John's School, Leatherhead Boys-U15B vs King's College School (KCS), Wimbledon
On: Saturday, 26 Nov 2016
Venue: at Home
Our worst start of the season, with some horrendous tackling, saw the B's down 7-12 after less than 10 minutes and for the first time in the season we trailed the opposition. However it was then the turn of KCS to demonstrate how not to tackle and Sellick showed how devastating he can be in attack, with two tries and a great run to give Munro a chance to dive over from 5 metres out. 33-12 at half time calmed the nerves somewhat but there was plenty to address going forward.
The second half was much better defensively but still mixed in attack, although we scored four more tries there could have been many more if overlaps were utilised and straighter lines were run. Against stronger opponents we will need to take our chances and read the game better, however running in nine tries certainly underlines again the formidable attack prowess of this song 15 B team. Sam Laslett and Lucas Bednall created the platform for the backs to hit the gaps and stood out for stepping up in defence.
