St John's School, Leatherhead 2nd XV vs Reed's School
On: Saturday, 12 Nov 2016
With a very slow pitch and soggy conditions the game was hampered with many errors in the first half. Despite this the team played well and had the majority of the possession and territory. Unfortunately despite the dominance of the boys we were unable to convert this into actual points with the first half ending 6-3 to us. After a re-jig of our tactics at half time we came into the second half with more collective purpose and played some excellent and exciting rugby. The first try came from brilliant work by the forwards putting a lot of pressure on their defence on the left hand side. When the damage was done and the defence scrambled will moved the ball swiftly to the right for Davidson to score. This was converted making the score 13-3. Later in the half we were awarded another penalty which was converted making the score 16-3. Towards the end of the match we again pushed deep into the opposition 22 with powerful runs from the forwards. the ball was kept well with drive after drive gaining more ground and the final pass went to Luke Frost who made a break for the line from almost 4 meters out. This was not converted making the final score 21-3. A rusty performance in the first half was brilliantly and intelligently turned around in the second half.
