Match Report
St John's School, Leatherhead Girls-U12A vs  St George's School
On: Saturday, 10 Dec 2016
Venue: Away

The U12A hockey side came up against a very well-drilled team from St George's. We were 3-0 down at Half Time, and the girls did not know what hit them. Molly Wolff worked tirelessly in defence and Siena Cunningham made some beautiful leads upfront in the first half, but we weren't able to deal with the physicality of the St George's side. Into the second half, the confidence of the girls increased, and Naomi George crossed in quite a few fabulous balls across the attacking D, but unfortunately St John's were unable to get a hold of the ball to finish the shot. The St George's goal keeper had a great day, saving a number of goals - St John's must have hit the Goalies pads on 6/7 occasions - but just couldn't finish off with a goal.

Credit must given to the St George's team for never giving up and scoring a further 2 goals against St John's. The St John's side will face St George's in the Surrey tournament next term, where I hope they can believe in themselves to come out with a win against St George's. Well done to the St John's side for holding their heads high after the match - it has been an incredible season for the team.
