The St John's second XI came up against tough opposition to lose the second match running after their unbeaten run was ended last week. Pippa Hansford was was through on goal on three separate occasions, but a nippy defender managed to make goal saving tackles. St John's did take the lead, courtesy of Olivia Conboy; the goalkeeper failed to clear an attempted shot, and she was on hand to strike the backboard. Brighton equalised shortly after following a short corner.
Shortly after the second half began, the visitors took the lead. Neat work ion the right hand side led to a strike into the D and their attacker timed her run to perfection. For the final 10 minutes, St John's played hard, but Brighton matched everything. Final score was 2-1. Player of the game was Anna Mead for stellar defending. Zanna McMahon also put in a great performance in an unfamiliar position.
