Match Report
St John's School, Leatherhead Girls Junior C vs  Bradfield College
On: Saturday, 17 Sep 2016
Venue: at Home

Full of nerves and excitement a forceful Junior C Team arrived ready for their match. After some ice-breakers and warm up games, the girls stepped onto the pitch with a little hope and a lot of heart. In some fantastic defensive play we took solace in the experience and strength of players such as Ruby Li and Fliss Easton. These clearances allowed us to make strong turnovers with some threatening attacking play by Katy Webb, Bella Oakley and Georgie Ellis. Despite our efforts, and some incredible saves from Isla Cory, Bradfield came back strong and managed to score just before half time. After some moral-boosting Haribo and a quick team chat, St. John's once again came out strong early into the second half. Great play was seen by Emilia Hay and Emilie Norris in their debut match for St.John's, along with some solid defence by Holly Connor. Unfortunately, Bradfield caught us off guard once more and managed to get it past our defence, with the match ending 2-0. However, the score in no way reflects the outstanding effort given by all the players, the wise words of motivation from Captain Ella Bullen and the promising skills that I have no doubt will only grow and develop as the season continues.
