Match Report
St John's School, Leatherhead 3rd XI vs  Tonbridge School
On: Saturday, 07 Jan 2017
Venue: Away

After training for approximately one hour on Thursday, Tonbridge was always going to be a tough ask for a first game for the threes. Tonbridge a much more physical side, took early chances and scored two goals within the opening ten minutes to put us on the back foot. After that we got ourselves back into the game and some excellent defending including a clearance off the line from James Robinson kept us in some sort of fashion still in the game.

The half time talk consisted of physicality, width and making the ball do the work and it was executed well for the first five minutes with Oliver Attard winning a penalty and scoring well. At 2-1 we felt we had a chance to pull ourselves back however Tonbridge were strong on the counter and they quickly took the advantage back with a good individual effort. Unfortunately our Heads dropped and we struggled to get back into the rhythm of the game. Some valiant defending from Charlie Verity was not enough and the final score was disappointing. Nevertheless, plenty to work on and some obvious talent to develop further.
