St John's School, Leatherhead Boys-U14D vs Cranleigh School
On: Saturday, 17 Sep 2016
Venue: at Home
After 35 seconds, and the first try for Cranleigh, it looked like being a difficult day for the U14Ds. They reorganised however, and took the game back to the opposition with spirited tackling and some hard running. On 6 minutes Benedict Tweddle finished off an opportunistic try to even the scores. After a fairly even first half Cranleigh were leading 12-7 but St John's evened things up again early in the second half, after fine running from Alex O'Brien was finished off by Josh Newby. As the second half went on Cranleigh's superior fitness, and having played last week, began to show and two tries in the corner meant the game finished 12-22. The entire squad played well but Edward Cohen stood out for his ferocious tackling at fullback.
