Match Report
St John's School, Leatherhead 3rd XV vs  RGS, Guildford
On: Saturday, 08 Oct 2016
Venue: Away

In a match that was end to end for 60 minutes, the frustration of last week and the hard work in training this week paid off with an epic 12-10 win.

Some lax discipline and tackling in the first half saw RGS go ahead before Harry Robinson, debuting in the centre, returned to the edge of the pitch to level the scores. He looked to have come close to securing a second later in the match, but it was not to be. Not to be outdone, RGS retook the lead to make it 5-10 before Ben Gadsby secured seven points with a converted try to take the lead: 12-10. The score remained that way for the rest of the game but St John's had to defend like Trojans as RGS maintained their attack, edging ever closer to the John's try line. An outstanding team performance but the Yorkie of the Week went to Harry Sweetland, strong in both attack and defence with some excellent carries and tackles.

This will hopefully be the turning point of the season for the boys - but more hard work will be needed to keep the momentum.
