U12B's Vs Epsom (Home)

Darby day.The team had spent the last week working hard on their attacking play and movement for the ball. Of all the fixtures these young eagles had to show off their new skills - today was the day and they certainly put in a great performance. Sadly we had to sacrifice both Maya and Faye to the C team which left us with no subs. The girls had to work hard and as a team from the beginning, and that they did. Epsom put up a strong defence preventing us from scoring on several occasions. But after some fantastic runs from Hannah C and great work between Kennedy, Zoe and Olivia we managed to score an amazing goal giving us a 1-0 lead heading into half time. With some motivational words from Mr Marshall and Miss Hems - the girls were ready to work hard and finish their last home game of the season on a high. Epsom retaliated with some clever attacking play but it wasn't enough to break our strongholds in defence - Hannah B and Kate and certainly not enough to break out outstanding goalkeeper - Jaimee. Even after several short corner, Epsom were unable to break the line and with a quick turnaround, Team Green worked quickly and fought hard - resulting in yet another fantastic goal this time from Olivia. 2-0 up with 10 minutes to go - all the team had to do was keep Epsom out. Even still, we continued to have some fantastic drives towards goal and once again looked threatening, unfortunately as the game intensified - Olivia felt the wrath of an Epsom stick to her hand and bravely stepped off the pitch to seek medical attention (we wish her a speedy recovery!). With only 5 minutes left, Epsom kindly joined us playing 6-aside and both sides put in a great fight. A fantastic team effort made all the more sweeter by a 2-0 victory. Go Eagles!
