St John's School, Leatherhead Girls 2nd XI vs  Churcher's College
On: Saturday, 26 Nov 2016
Venue: Away

The 2nd XI continued their successful campaign with a dominant win over Churcher's College. The opposition had the edge of the game in the first couple of minutes, but the St John's defence made light work of their attacking attempts. John's looked good going forward and created several goal-scoring opportunities. Livvy Conboy and Kirstin Hume linked up well and it wasn't long before St John's took the lead. Conboy took the ball in her stride and took it past a defender. From a very tight angle she smashed the ball in between the keeper and the near post. The Eagles pressurised the opposition for the remainder of the half, but struggled to break down the stubborn defence.

As the game developed and moved into the second half, the 2nds started to play some lovely hockey. Zanna McMahon had a fantastic game, both defensively and in attack as she linked up well with Pippa Hansford. Livvy Conboy got her second goal of the game following som excellent build up from the midfield. Kirstin Hume made a winding run and played Conboy through. She took her shot early and it went past the keeper into the goal. Minutes later, John's finished off the game with a neat finished from Rene Spreeth. Conboy came close to her second hat-trick of the season as she rounded the keeper, but the ball was well saved on the line by a defender. Final score was 3-0 and players of the game was Zanna McMahon for consistency on the left. Livvy Conboy also caused the defence problems all game. Well done to all! 2 games to go...Epsom & St George's.
