Match Report
St John's School, Leatherhead Boys-U12A vs  Epsom College
On: Saturday, 21 Jan 2017
Venue: Away

A superb first game for the U12 A team culminated in a 4-2 victory against a competent Epsom College side. This game had it all! The first goal was a wonderful passing move right out of the top drawer, finished tidily by George Perry for his 1st goal of the game. A 20 yard effort right into the top corner that would have beaten any goalkeeper provided the second goal of the game for both the team and for George. A lead of 3-0 was taken into half-time thanks to a fast paced counter-attacking goal from Eden Barlow, two superb saves from Louis Norris kept Epsom at bay at the other end. The second half started poorly with Epsom being awarded a penalty, but Alistair Burns substituted at half-time saved well. Buster O'Callaghan had a superb performance epitomised by a recovering challenge, having lost the ball, followed by a defence splitting pass that led to the 4th goal scored by Lucas Atkin. Whilst 2 goals were conceded in the second half the defence played superbly well, marshalled by the captain Filip Lissah who gave a man of the match performance. Strong, quick and always patient Filip never missed a tackle and played selflessly for the good of the team; a true captain's performance.
