St John's School, Leatherhead Girls 4th XI vs Epsom College
On: Saturday, 03 Dec 2016
St John's 4th XI had one of the most exciting games of the season against Epsom. The first half was a little slow and there was a considerable amount of play back and fourth and mids, Issy and Anya Cooper playing with determination. The first half looked set to end 0:0, but Epsom seized an opportunity and managed a goal in the final minute. Epsom managed another goal in the second half, but St John's fought back with renewed vigour. Amy Currie moved into a new position as forward and made a significant impact. She used some excellent positioning, working tenaciously with Alice Mahon to score a goal for St John's. The power balance had definitely shifted in St John's favour by the end of the second half and they were incredibly close to scoring again to even the school, but unfortunately time ran out. The opposition coach commented on the high standard of play and particularly the skilful stick work of Sophia Noussis as right back.
