St John's School, Leatherhead Girls 1st XI vs  Cranbrook School
On: Saturday, 19 Nov 2016
Venue: at Home

The 1st XI warmed up for the regional finals in the best possible way with a comfortable 3-0 win over Cranbrook. St John's were working through their repertoire of systems and formations and everything they tried looked slick and well groomed. Some of the passing was sublime as they dominated possession for large periods. But for some uncharacteristically wayward shooting and an inspired goalkeeping performance, the score could easily have been into double figures. As it was, Cranbrook held out for the whole of the first half before Maya Yien buried a corner at the second attempt and Sophie Tait's back-hand strike was too hot for the visiting keeper. Chrissie Georgiou added a third and John's ran out easy winners.
