Match Report
St John's School, Leatherhead 3rd XV vs  Eastbourne College
On: Saturday, 15 Oct 2016
Venue: at Home

After a good week's training and following on from last week's victory at RGS Guildford, hopes were high. A solid start saw an upset as, against play, Eastbourne scored a quick try, converted to take the lead 0-7. St John's kept their heads to score their own through Oliver Attard, before Attard kicked a penalty cleanly through the posts for a narrow 8-7 lead at half time.

However, a lack of intensity and numerous penalties on both sides saw the game move away from the hosts, with some poor defence seeing a converted try against us - 8-14 the score. As ever, the reliable Harry Sweetland and Tom Lambert kept us in the game, alongside man-of-the-match Ben Howe, who had a storming game on the wing, preventing several challenges to the try line before the boys switched on and utilised the back line, with Harry Robinson going over with the ball. However, he was adjudged to be off-side and the try disallowed, to leave the final score 8-14.

A frustrating day - the boys have the talent to win these sort of games, but now need to make it happen.
