Lost 10-45 v Caterham School
The U12 A team faced another hard fixture, this time against a very big Caterham team. Caterham managed to have a good start in the game with a couple quick tries coming through their big players.
One of the targets we set out at the start of the game was to improving our rucking and during the game this happened. First with Luc Gamber and Lucas Atkin counter rucking and winning the ball back for the team, we then started showing off the attacking skills we have by offloading in the tackles.
Filip Lissah produced the tackle of the day by tackling their big player around the knees and knocking him backwards, this resulting in a turnover. After applying pressure to the on Caterham near their line St. John’s managed to get a turnover and pass the ball down the line to Jacob Costard who for the third game in a row managed to score. St. Johns final try of the game came through some brilliant passing and agility before contact before Buster O’Callaghan ran down the line to score a well worked team try.
Looking back on this half term the whole squad should be pleased in how much everyone has improved and the exciting way both the A’s and B’s are looking to play rugby.
