Match Report
St John's School, Leatherhead Boys-U15B vs  Wellington College
On: Saturday, 18 Mar 2017
Venue: at Home

With our usual starting squad burdened with illness, or enjoying the finer sights of skiing - we were lucky enough to call in some eager and willing members from the C team. These players certainly stepped up to make their mark and some impressive performance were given by all. Connor Cloughley was strong in defence alongside Matt Hull, Robbie Vann and Joe Brown. Some great attacking play was made by our usual defensive strongholds - Luke French and Luke Hailstone, with some fantastic leads and passed from Captain Luke Garlick. From the beginning, our boys seemed a little struggle and while we blew off the cobwebs, Wellington were keen to win the last match of the season. A great finish from French put is into the lead but Wellington quickly retaliated despite some fantastic saves from safe hands James Bonner.

A supportive and encouraging crowd, alongside our usual "half time Haribo" and some stern words proved to be the crucial ingredients to ignite a spark in each and every player into the second half. St John's began to play effectively as a team and had the urgency to win the 50/50s. A big congrats to Luke French who managed to secure a hat-trick with some impressive attempts on goal by both Luke Hailstone and Michael Georgiou!

Thanks to all who stepped in to play and well done boys! What a great win to end a fantastic season!
