St John's School, Leatherhead Girls-U15B vs Bradfield College
On: Saturday, 18 Mar 2017
Venue: at Home
The U15Bs were determined to defend their unbeaten record when they came out to play a strong Bradfield side at home this morning. The first quarter got underway well; after some initial nerves, the girls settled into the game and gained a 7-3 lead. In the second quarter we brought on fresh legs in the form of Zoe Bell (WA) and Olivia Woodward (GS) and were able to extend our lead to 11-6, largely due to the heroic efforts of our defensive duo, Jemima Good (GD) and Georgina Holden (GK).
Unfortunately, due to some of the opposition needing to leave early, we had to cut the match short, so just ten minutes stood between our girls and an unbeaten season. The realisation of this fact somewhat took its toll on the girls, whose nerves got the better of them in this final play. Bradfield came back strongly, winning the quarter 5-2 but losing the match 11-13 leaving our unbeaten record intact.
The U15B squad have gone from strength to strength this season and they thoroughly deserve all their success this year. They have bonded well as a team and clearly enjoy their time on the court. We look forward to seeing how their senior netball careers develop; there is certainly plenty of potential to work with here.
