U14B vs Haileybury away, 19th November
St Johns looked up for this game from the start and closed down the opposition quickly from the very first whistle. The style of play was better than usual as well, with good use of the width of the pitch. Michael Anderson used his pace well early on and scored in the corner after four minutes. Soon after Omar Matthias scored on the other wijng.
After a setback of a try for Haileybury through their own dangerous winger, Michael Anderson scored two more quick tries to give him a very well deserved first-half hattrick and to give the team a 22-7 lead at half-time.
The second half followed a similar pattern with St Johns putting the opposition under huge pressure when they had possession and throwing the ball wide whenever we had the ball. Tries from Harry Lawes, Ollie Langlands, Omar Matthias and Luke Horner-Long made the final score 46-12.
There were several exceptional performances on the day with Luke Horner-Long making yards of ground every time he touched the ball, Charlie Wolff controlling the game well from behind the scrum and Omar Matthias putting in some crunching tackles and scoring a couple of tries.
Man of the match, though, goes to Michael Anderson who's pace and elusive running made him look like scoring every time he got the ball.
