Match Report
St John's School, Leatherhead Boys-U15B vs  Haileybury
On: Saturday, 19 Nov 2016
Venue: at Home

Most pleasing, after recent slow starts, was the instant pressure we put on Haileybury. Luke French made a strong impact coming down from the A's - helping to create the first and pouncing on a stray pass for the second. Sadly we then switched off around the ruck and let Halieybury surge up the field and they scored a deserved try. But a mazy run from Olly Loy lead to Cripps crashing over and we went into half time looking clearly the stronger outfit.

However too many penalties gave Haileybury a foothold and they were the first to score. This thankfully spurred us to action and French crashed over for his second from a penalty thrown out wide. More strong back play and a delightful kick from Bednall put Blackman-Rogers in space and as usual no one could catch him. A deserved four score lead meant we tried the much discussed "special' line-out. Un-noticed as an illegal play Tudor ran twenty metres before Bednall finally touched down. With more than ten minutes to go focus strayed for some and Haileybury scored for a third time, adding a slight gloss to the score for a team who had been thoroughly outplayed by a dominant St John's performance.
